Well-paced given the life-spanning scope. The transitions are clean, the escape sequence is sharply executed, and Act 3 delivers narrative payoff. A few mid-act moments could still be micro-trimmed, but this is solid overall.

Greatrex is complex, consistent, and captivating. Jane and Jessie serve the emotional spine well. McCall is now a true foil — principled, driven, and thematically relevant. Excellent character dynamics throughout.

 

Dialogue - 8/10

Mostly period-appropriate, often layered with subtext. Some moments shine (“We are like dogs with a scent…”). A handful of lines could be slightly modern or formal — worth one final polish, but it’s strong overall.

 

Theme & Emotional Impact - 9/10

Themes of self-determination, delusion, loyalty, and justice are clearly present and evolve across the script. Jessie’s betrayal and Jane’s ultimatum land well. The ending lingers without overexplaining.

Imagery is cinematic, especially in key sequences (escape via the wagon, the final cell grin). Could benefit from an occasional lift in atmospheric description to emphasize tone, but direction is clear and effective.
