LOGLINE: When three sixty-year-old friends stumble through an underground tour and emerge in 1984, they relive their punk-fuelled youth—only to become hunted across Edinburgh when their talking dog accidentally steals jewel loot from a biker gang, triggering a three-way chase between criminals, police and time-displaced men racing to get back home in this hilarious caper.

Three sixty-year-old friends—Danny, Ricky and Peter—set out on a guided underground tour beneath Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, hoping for a mild dose of history and nostalgia. Instead, after drinking a mysterious whisky and choosing the wrong tunnel, they emerge back onto the street in 1984—twenty-one again in spirit but trapped in their older bodies. As they stumble through the city during the Edinburgh Festival, they realise they’ve landed in their own youth, complete with punk clubs, student flats, their younger selves, and a shockingly talkative dog. What begins as bewilderment quickly turns into exhilaration as they relive the recklessness, freedom and friendships of their past, indulging in music, drink and drugs they thought were long behind them.

But the night of nostalgia has consequences. The men become entangled with a violent biker gang after their dog accidentally steals a stuffed panda concealing stolen jewels, turning their time-slip adventure into a chaotic chase across Edinburgh. As the clock ticks toward their only chance to return home, the friends must decide what really matters: clinging to the past or accepting who they’ve become. Balancing surreal comedy with heartfelt reflection, Going Underground is a time-travel caper about aging, friendship, missed chances and the joy—and danger—of trying to reclaim youth.
